Hi Juan, my name is Diane Rios and I was at the Sweet Hereafter bar the other night. I was totally blown away by two paintings of yours - the Hotrod magazine cover one and the one above of the driver. My grandfather was Chuck Spurgin, who built the Spurgin/Giovanne roadster that broke all the dry lake records in 1948. This painting is almost a dead-ringer for my grandfather, and when I saw it I was floored. His car was even on the cover of Hotrod magazine. Last year the car was inducted into the Dry Lakes Hall of Fame. The story of how it was found and restored is an incredible one, too. Anyway, I see other "LA" artwork on your site, did you live there, or are you from there? I was born in Santa Monica but have lived in Oregon for 40 years. :) You might already know of my grandfather and his car and his buddies, but if you don't, google him and you'll see all kinds of pics and how much that painting resembles Chuck Spurgin. Cheers!
